James Carney Construction, PO Box 928, Glasgow, MT 59230, 406-654-4706, submitted an application to the DEQ Opencut Mining Program for an 18.7-acre mine permit for the Anderson Site in Section 22, T31N, R30E, in Phillips County. Access to the site is from Honey Plant Road. Operator will strip soil material for reclamation, excavate up to 150,000 cubic yards of gravel, process it with a grizzly, screen, crusher, and/or pug mill, and reclaim the disturbed area to grassland. Estimated date of final reclamation is 11/2042. The application and a map are posted at http://searchopencutpermits.mt.gov/. REQUEST FOR PUBLIC MEETING

A surface landowner may request a public meeting until 01/18/18. Submit one form per parcel of land owned by multiple parties, or one form per multiple parcels owned by one party, and any comments, to DEQ Opencut Mining Program, PO Box 200901, Helena, MT 59620-0901.
