One Nation, Under God

It's been a while

I appreciate the patience.

As you all know our editor was out for a few weeks, so I had the chance to gain valuable experience as a short term newspaper editor.

I am proud of how our short-handed staff handled things over the weeks.

I do realize in being short-handed, there were things that I couldn’t cover as well as normal.

I definitely appreciate your patience as readers.

That being said, being the editor for a month was a pretty cool experience.

It gave me a closer look into the happenings in our community.

I have to be honest, if I wasn’t editing the Christmas issue, I wouldn’t have seen the creative minds of our area’s youth through the yearly Santa letters and stories. I hate to admit it but I typically don’t read the Christmas issue because of my personal beef with Santa.

I appreciate those in the community that stepped up and sent in articles or let me know when things were happening around the community.

I appreciate that no one called in to cuss us out and that the community was so thoughtful in asking about Mark and his family.

I definitely appreciate my boss a lot more because even though I know how hard he has worked in the past, I have gotten a chance to see how intense the job can be.

I definitely appreciate the compliments that I had been given over the past month because sometimes I didn’t know if I had done a good job or not.

I tried my best to make sure that while Mark was gone things didn’t fall apart and that the PCN was as enjoyable as it was before his surgery.

I definitely enjoyed my tenure as an editor and I am proud to say if needed in the future, I will definitely do it again.

Once again I am sorry that Sports coverage was lean, but I do hope that sports fans can understand that things will return to normal soon.

I am excited to give our kids more coverage as things are heating up in the basketball and wrestling season!
