One Nation, Under God

The Flu or Zoo season?

I have been getting a kick out of how much PJ enjoys animals.

The little guy has been sick for about a week now and that has been really sad to see.

We went to the clinic twice last week, because when your three-year-old has thrown up a couple of times without food in his belly, it is concerning.

Since he has had to stay home, Susan’s mother has been gracious enough to take care of him. I think he likes his Nana better than us anyways. But every once in a while I would take off from work early to spend time with him, and even though he is sick, it is still amazing to see my son grow.

He has been taking his medicine, lying down, sleeping, repeat. When he was awake enough to be entertained, his Nanna read him books or watched TV with him.

While Nanna has been watching him, he has had a chance to watch his favorite shows, but when I watch him, we took some time to watch documentaries about nature.

It brings me back to when I was a kid and my father used to say, “if you are going to watch something on TV, make sure it is educational.”

I am not sure how much PJ will retain from watching sharks, whales, dolphins and other sea creatures on TV, but I do know that I have been impressed with how much he already knows about animals. He also has a soft spot for the baby animals, often laughing, saying “aw” or “daddy look!”

He didn’t last long watching the shows due to his body trying to heal but it has been a small bright spot during this sickness.

Thank the Lord for antibiotics. Because PJ has finally been showing signs of getting out of this sickness. As a parent, there is no feeling like seeing your son (or daughter) eat something and being able to keep it down after being sick.

Susan and I have appreciated the thoughts and prayers for PJ while he has gone through this sickness.
