Please remember to file a new burn permit for the 2018 year. If you plan on doing any burning in 2018, please file one BEFORE you start to burn. These permits are good for all of 2018 and you only have to file one a year, not every time you burn. All 2017 permits will no longer be valid after December 31, 2017. Thank you!

11:05 p.m. Female requested assistance for a vehicle that hit a snow drift near Hays; call transferred to Ft Belknap LE.

February 24, 2018

12:27 a.m. Deputy performed security checks around the Malta area.

3:22 a.m. Wind Chill Advisory is canceled.

12:29 p.m. Male reported receiving threats from another male and requested extra patrol around his residence in Dodson; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.

2:31 p.m. Local MHP Trooper reported a vehicle vs guardrail accident on Hwy 191 north of Malta and he was responding.

3:54 p.m. Female reported a male walking on Hwy 2, west of Dodson, not wearing a shirt; information passed onto Ft Belknap LE.

4:25 p.m. Female reported an “deer acting oddly” in her yard; information passed onto local Fish & Game Warden.

5:09 p.m. Winter Weather Advisory in effect until midnight for most of Phillips Co.

6:48 p.m. 911 received reporting a vehicle in the ditch on Hwy 2, east of Malta; local MHP Trooper handled the call.

6:53 p.m. Female reported Hwy 191 south was blowing shut; information passed onto MT Dept of Transportation employee.

7:38 p.m. 911 received reporting a one vehicle, non-injury rollover on Hwy 191 south, near the Zortman turnoff; local MHP Trooper handled the crash.

February 25, 2018

4:32 a.m. PC Hospital reported a female involved in a car accident and was at the hospital; Deputy responded to the call; MHP Trooper also responded to the call; accident scene found to be on Hwy 191 south of Malta; case file started.

6:11 a.m. MT Dept of Transportation employee reported a vehicle in the ditch, south of Malta, on Hwy 191; male advised had been reported already.

7:02 a.m. Undersheriff reported an accident on Hwy 2, west of Malta; no one was around the area; case file started.

Several calls received reporting vehicles in the ditches off of Hwy 2 west and Hwy 191 south.

10:29 a.m. Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 6pm tonight.

10:52 a.m. Local business employee reported a vehicle parked in front of the business for an extended amount of time; owner located and vehicle removed from the location.

11:45 a.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance for a female in Dodson; local EMT Crew responded to the call; patient transported to the PC Hospital.

5:48 p.m. Winter Weather Advisory is canceled for northern Phillips; remains in effect until 11pm for the rest of Phillips Co.

6:25 p.m. Male reported a missing vehicle that had been stuck in the ditch, west of Malta, on Hwy 2; Deputy responded to the call; vehicle found to have been towed by MHP.

6:39 p.m. Male reported individuals “picking up a deer” on a residential street; Deputy responded to the call; deer and individuals not located.

10:00 p.m. Deputy released one adult male, Brian Wiese, from PCSO Jail on time served.

10:18 p.m. Winter Weather Advisory is canceled.

February 26, 2018

1:02 p.m. Male reported theft of property; Undersheriff responded to the call; case file started.

1:09 p.m. Female reported theft of property; Sheriff responded to the call; case file started.

4:53 p.m. Male requested assistance with his wife’s missing wallet that was located at a business and is now missing again; Deputy handled the call.

7:09 p.m. 911 received reporting a one vehicle accident near the Valley/Phillips Co line; unknown if any injuries; Deputy, Saco EMT Crew and Saco FD responded to the call; vehicle was not located by any of the emergency units that responded.

February 27, 2018

1:07 a.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a ground transport to Glasgow; local EMT Crew handled the call.

8:26 a.m. Transport company reported an oversized load would be traveling through Phillips Co today.

8:36 a.m. Undersheriff transported two adult male, David Pierce and David Evans, from Valley Co SO to PCSO for District Court appearances.

9:05 a.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance for a possible stroke in Saco; Saco EMT Crew responded to the call; patient transported to the Glasgow Hospital.

10:03 a.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport, transport to the hospital and back to the airport with their patient; local EMT Crew handled the call.

12:33 p.m. Undersheriff released one adult male, David Evans, from PCSO Jail on time served and transferred custody to Cascade Co SO Deputies.

3:11 p.m. Deputy transported one adult male, David Pierce, from PCSO Jail back to Valley Co Detention Center.

4:51 p.m. Female requested assistance with finding out who plowed the snow around her driveway and blocked her vehicle in; caller advised to call the Malta City Office for assistance.

6:25 p.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport, transport to the hospital and back to the airport with their patient; local EMT Crew handled the call.

7:01 p.m. Female reported a train blocking both crossings in Dodson for an extended amount of time; caller also wanted them to be issued a ticket; Deputy handled the call and information passed onto BNSF Police; train found to be waiting for Amtrak and a HazMat train to pass through.

7:15 p.m. Female requested an ambulance for an elderly male who fell and was having trouble breathing; Deputy and local EMT Crew responded to the call; patient transported to the PC Hospital.

9:41 p.m. Female reported a male walking on Hwy 2, wearing all black clothes; Deputy responded to the call; male advised he was trying to get to Havre; male taken to meet a Blaine Co Deputy for transport to Havre.

February 28, 2018

3:19 a.m. 911 received requesting assistance with an intoxicated, family member walking on Hwy 191 north; Deputy responded to the call; male located, found to be okay and taken back to his residence.

11:43 a.m. PC Hospital requested an ambulance for a flight crew pick up from the airport, transport to the hospital and back to the airport with their patient; local EMT Crew handled the call.

1:09 p.m. Female reported stolen medication; Deputy responded to the call; case file started; caller later reported the medication had been located.

2:45 p.m. Female requested an ambulance in the District Courtroom for a female who fell; local EMT responded to the call; female transported to the hospital by personal vehicle.

2:45 p.m. Male reported stolen checks and forgery of those checks; Sheriff responded to the call; case file started.

3:50 p.m. Male reported a possible violation of a protection order; Deputy responded to the call; information added to existing case file.

4:23 p.m. Male requested law enforcement assistance with getting keys back from another party; Deputy handled the call.

7:04 p.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance at a local business for an employee having a seizure; Deputy and local EMT Crew responded to the call; patient transported to the PC Hospital.

March 1, 2018

12:34 a.m. 911 received reporting a dispute between two adult males at a local residence; Deputies responded to the call; situation taken care of without further incident and both parties went to their own residences.

8:10 p.m. 911 received requesting an ambulance for a male who fell down the stairs and was unresponsive; Deputies and local EMT Crew responded to the call; patient transported to the PC Hospital.

9:44 p.m. Local EMT Crew advised they were enroute to the airport to pick up the flight crew, take to the hospital and back to the airport with their patient.

March 2, 2018

11:18 a.m. Male reported theft of property; Deputy responded to the call; case file started.

11:25 a.m. Female requested law enforcement assistance with dogs running at large in Whitewater and harassing her dog; Deputy handled the call.

11:36 a.m. Male reported an injured cat in the downtown area; ACO handled the call.

2:14 p.m. Male reported an IRS scam.

We have been receiving calls and individuals have been coming in to report telephone calls with people asking for personal information, bank account information and needing to send money to relatives.

Calls have been received from:

• the IRS

• SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) Center

• Publisher’s Clearing House

• Federal Warrant

• Federal Student Loan company

• Walmart Secret Shopper

• Block Grants

• People claiming to be calling for a Magistrate or a Grand Jury regarding a Federal Criminal Offense

• Loan Company

• Life Alert

• Calling about a prescription that a Doctor had ordered, but the Rx is not real

• Facebook

• Federal Court

• Calling from NorthWestern Energy

• Calling from a Montana business, such as a florist shop from another town

• Storage Pods, asking to verify your name

• Calling about a Caribbean cruise

• Calling about a household member having back/shoulder/hip pain and claiming to be from a medical center

These phone calls are scams, if it seems suspicious DO NOT GIVE any information to the caller. Ask for a call back phone number and call them back to see if it is who they are claiming to be.

The IRS and the Federal Justice System do not contact people via telephone.

Always remember the key things regarding scams:

1. If you didn't enter, you didn't win

2. If you have to pay to receive your prize, you didn’t win.

3. If you have a lawsuit or other legal issues pending you will get notification via certified mail or served to you by an official, whether it is a law enforcement officer or a civil process server

2:30 p.m. Winter Storm Watch in effect from late Saturday night through Monday evening for central and southeast Phillips Co.

4:37 p.m. Female reported a deer had died under a wheelchair ramp at a local residence; Deputy responded to the call; a Good Samaritan had removed the deer before Deputy arrived.

6:56 p.m. Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from late Saturday night until Monday evening for central, southeast, southwest Phillips Co. Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 8am Saturday for most of Phillips Co.

7:18 p.m. Central Station reported a residential fire alarm at a local residence; Deputy responded to the call; found to be a false alarm.

9:33 p.m. Female requested law enforcement assistance for herself; Deputies responded to the call; female later transported to the PC Hospital for mental evaluation.
