Public meeting on sewer to be held in Dodson at Sacred Heart on March 20

The Town of Dodson will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, March 20 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church where the Town Council is scheduled to hear and obtain public comments regarding the town’s sewer system. The meeting is set to begin at 6:30 p.m.

Dodson Mayor Teresa Cole told the PCN she hopes everyone attends the meeting to become informed on the issue as well as give their opinions on it.

"We hope everyone attends, as they can then be aware of what is happening and nothing is a surprise in the future," Mayor Cole said. "We want everyone's input."

The night’s public meeting will feature preliminary engineering report (PER) on the sewer system and possible applications to the State of Montana’s Treasure State Endowment Program, Community Development Block Grant Program and Water Pollution Control State Revolving Fund Programs. Also, the public will be given the opportunity to comment on the assessment of the potential environmental impact of the proposed improvements to the sewer system.

At the hearing, the project will be explained, including the purpose and proposed area of the project, activities, budget, possible sources of funding, and any costs that may result for local citizens because of the project. The Town Council will give everyone the opportunity to ask questions and to express their opinions regarding the project and its effect on the environment.

Comments may be given orally at the hearing or submitted in writing before the end of the hearing on March 20th, 2018.

Anyone who would like more information or has questions should contact Steve Lipetzky, PE, Project Manager, Great West Engineering at (406) 449-8631. A copy of the Draft PER and the draft Environmental Assessment are available at the Town’s office.
