One Nation, Under God

Lewis Fjeldheim

Lewis Fjeldheim, 80, passed away from natural causes late Wednesday night, February 14, 2018 at his home in Puyallup, Wash.

He was born on Februray 19, 1937 in Saco, Mont., to Endre and Elizabeth Fjeldheim. Lewis spent his early years working with his father Endre at the H. Earl Clack gas station in Saco for Bob Malmin. When he grew older he spent several years living with Tom and Randi Sunford at their farm North of Saco where he attended the Central Country School, transferring to the Saco High School as a freshman, where he graduated in 1956. He happily married his wife, Sandra Jacox, on October 21, 1961 and they started their family, working for some years for Vince Barnard and then later relocating to the Pacific Northwest.

He wasn’t a man of many words, but when he spoke, he would make you smile, laugh or help you out in any way he could and if his words didn’t help, he would fix it himself. He never knew a stranger and left a lasting impression on those he interacted with. He was known best for his old school, honest personality, contagious laughter, and constant smile. He had a passion for camping, hunting, fishing, playing cards, and most importantly family.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sandra Fjeldheim; sisters, Emma Berdan, Betty Clark, and Gena Fjeldheim; brother, Bertan Fjeldheim; son, Michael and Allison Fjeldheim; daughters, Connie Divelbiss, Theresa Knox, and Nicole and Mark Rogers; grandchildren, James Knox, Rachel Divelbiss, Joseph and Nikki Fjeldheim, Austin Divelbiss, Kaylea and Bradley Tripp, Ryan Rogers, and Colby Rogers; and great-grandchild, Jasmine Shimp.
