Coyotes Track 2018

The Dodson Coyotes track team has multiplied in 2018, boasting ten athletes this season as well as a team manager, after only having a few athletes compete in 2017.

The team returns three track athletes, two of which competed last season and one that took a season away from the sport. The team consists of Head Coach Tianna Bloomer, Assistant Coach Natacha Doney, freshman manager Sophia Hebert, four seniors, two juniors, two sophomores, and two freshmen.

David Jaynes-- Senior-- David is in his final year of Varsity Track. He has been a dedicated trackster since I've known him. He plans on competing in shot put, disc and the relay team. He posted his best throw of 37-10 in shot put last season at the 3C District meet, taking fourth place and moving on to divisionals. He also had a personal best of 69-7 his freshman year.

During track practice Coach Bloomer sat down with her team to talk about which events they preferred.

Paul Doney-- Senior-- Paul Doney is new to our track team this year. He is dedicated and wants to try his best at improving at everything. shot put, the 400-meter run, high jump are the events he plans on competing in.

Marty LoneBear-- Senior-- Marty is a veteran Cross Country runner, and will likely plan on being part of running events this year in track.

Kyla Racine-- Senior-- Kyla is new to track and is very interested in running events. At this time she does not have a certain event she'd like to focus on. She does plan on improving her running techniques.

Caleb Ditmar-- Junior-- Caleb is new to our track team. He plans on working on all forms of events. He is interested in running the 3200 and since he is a Cross Country runner, we foresee him to do well. He also would like to try the 400 meter, the 1600, the high jump and be a part of the relay team.

Tyrese Messerly-- Junior--Tyrese has decided to come back to track after he took a year off. He plans on continuing his high jump. He will also be a part of our relay team and is going to test out the long jump. In his freshman season, Messerly qualified for the Eastern C Divisional in high jump, clearing 4-10 and placing fifth at the 3C District meet. He went on to clear 5-2 at the Eastern C and took eighth place. Messerly also posted bests of 2:44.63 in the 800-meter run and 6:10.59 in the 1600 meter run.

Christina Jaynes-- Sophomore-- Our returning State Track Star!!-- She will continue her work towards improving her shot and disc distance. She is on a regimented strengthening routine. We plan on taking her to state again this year! Her personal bests as a freshman last season were: a throw of 32-2 in shot put and 93-6 in discus. At the 2017 State C Track Meet, C. Jaynes posted a throw of 89-0 in discus, placing seventh. She took eighteenth in shot put with a throw of 30-6.

Shaun Ball-- Sophomore--Shaun has decided to come back to the sport after a couple years' break. He plans on continuing with shot put, but he will be learning javelin and long jump.   

Jeramiah Benson--Freshman- Jeramiah is a returning trackster. He did well with his junior high season last year. He plans on competing and improving with the following events: 100, 200, 400, and the 4 X 100 relay.

Tiffany Cliff- - Freshman-- Tiffany is new to track this year. Currently, she does not have a single focus. She plans on trying out most events and seeing which ones she likes the best and then focusing on those.

Sophia Hebert-- Freshman-- Sophia is new to track this year. She thoroughly enjoyed being a manager for the basketball team and has requested to be our manager as well. We love that she will be part of our team.
