One Nation, Under God

Loring News for April 11, 2018

More snow fell up here this week! We have not had enough warmth to get the Whitewater Creek running, but I see the Big and Little Cottonwood and the Assiniboine Creeks are sending a little water into the Milk!

Some people tease me because I enjoy Facebook. Today I got a message from a friend who spent weeks in summer visiting her grandparents and Betty and Glenn Compton in Loring. Susan Compton commented that she had a nice visit on the phone with Aunt Betty Jo and Uncle Glenn. She is Ross Compton's daughter from Tennessee. In those days, Herb and Helen were farmers. Glenn managed the elevator and Betty Jo served as postmaster and store owner.

Next Sunday Loring Lutheran Church will host the Gideons to share their stories at 9 a.m.

The middle school and high school at Whitewater participated in the Technology Student Association competitions this week! Char Wasson and Darin Cummings were the advisors. I'm waiting to hear how everyone did!

The Loring community extends sympathy to the Hofer family on the death of Elizabeth Hofer. Many family and friends paid their last respects last week.

Also sympathy from this side of the border to Saskatchewan on the deaths of so many in the bus/semi accident. It is a sad time for hockey players and fans.
