One Nation, Under God

Mustang Gazette staff brings home Journalism Award

After a couple days of sunshine and seeing more bare ground, (actually thinking spring might be going to be here) on Saturday night we got more COLD and wind and snow again. Here in town, we acquired about another four inches or so, out north in the country they had more and harder winds to drift the roads terribly again. All the ranchers are calving and some have had a heavy death toll on calves AND cows. Not a very good feeling.

Terrible roads were reported. All 11 of Wink and Terri Cole's kids, plus, came home for a family celebration and many took off for home early Sunday to travel in the daylight. Sunday afternoon, the snow stopped and the sun actually tried to shine (through terrible overcast) altho temperatures were only in the low 30's.

Polly Solberg is still assisting Tammy Voice while she recuperates from her back surgery. Tammy is taking therapy in Malta.

Dora Henry joined women from Havre, Chinook, Harlem, Malta, Big Sandy, Kremlin and Gilford in Malta for the Spring Lutheran WELCA convention on Saturday. Frank Billmayer, undersheriff of Blaine County, was the main speaker with a presentation on Human trafficking. Other speakers included Marilyn Henry of Havre and Marge Fiedler, Director of the Flathead Lutheran Bible Camp at Flathead and others. Ethel Simens of Harlem led the presentations for the day. The Malta unit served a delicious brunch and noon lunch.

Carol Kienenberger received word that her brother, Joe, had a stroke and was taken to Missoula. Daughter Darcy and granddaughter Kendal spent the weekend with Dean and Carol.

Dora Henry received word her great-granddaughter, Taylor, had to have three procedures on her heart including catheterization and the placing of a recorder. If these do not work she will be put on the list to hope for a transplant. So far she is responding well. Her grandmother is Dora's daughter, Karen Cribley.

Happy Birthday to Don Wilkes and all others celebrating a birthday this week.

The trouble with doing something right the first time is that nobody appreciates how difficult it was!

Have a good week.
