P.C. golfers at State

The trio of Phillips County golfers saw their season come to a close at their respective state golf meets on Wednesday, May 16.

Malta’s Grayson Waters and Chloe Hunter each golfed at the State B Golf Meet in Billings, at the Eagle Rock Golf Course, while Saco’s Jada Sudbrack golfed at the Fairmont Golf Course in Anaconda.

“State golf was a good experience for our golfers,” Malta Head Coach Travis Somerfeld said. “They gained good experience that will help them for next year. Both of our golfers competed at a high level. With this experience, I am excited for what these two golfers can do next year.”

Waters had a day one total of 105, and a day two total of 102, giving him a total of 207 strokes. Hunter had a day one total of 112, and a day two total of 132, giving her a total of 244 strokes.

Sudbrack had a front nine score of 52 on the first day and a score of 56 on the back nine for a day one total of 108. She had a score of 60 on the second day’s front nine and ended with a 56, giving her a day two total of 116 and a two-day total of 224.

“It was good to see her pull her game back on track with an improved score for the back nine (in day two),” Saco Golf Head Coach Elena Sudbrack said. “I was pleased to see this recovery and see Jada finish with dignity and a love for the game.”
