Don L. Buffington

Don L. Buffington 76, of Billings, Montana passed away at his home on May 14, 2018 On a sunny spring Montana evening, surrounded by his family, he stepped from this life into the presence of the Lord. He was born to the late Don R. and Maryann (Wachula) Buffington on June 19, 1941, in Glasgow, Mont.

Don grew up in the Saco area; he graduated from Malta High School in 1959. He attended Carroll College until 1962. Don entered into farming and ranching with his dad in the Whitewater area and later moved the ranch to Malta. He served in the Montana Army National Guard for six years.

Don married Carol Ann Jacobsen Nov 4, 1967, and recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. The family moved to Billings in 1972. He owned and operated Magic City Appliance Service until his retirement. Don kept his love of farming alive through his roses and orchids. Don also loved sailing and enjoyed visiting many lighthouses throughout his travels. He served many years with the Boy Scout of America.

Cherishing his memory are his loving wife, Carol Ann; three sons, Paul (Stephanie) of Gearhart, Oregon, Kevin (Michelle) of Gold Beach, Oregon, Michael (Kristy) of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Lori (Zane) Marsh of Billings. He has eight grandchildren; Jacob, Alec, Mia, Madison, Abby, Gracey, Carter, Chapin, and Zoe. Surviving is his sister, Carol (Bill) McVicars of River Falls, WI, two special nieces, Christine (Steve) Broberg, Mary (Larry) Heckel and a great-nephew and great-niece, and sister in law Siri (Jim) Gruessing of Arizona City, AZ.

Memorial service and a celebration of Don L. Buffington's life will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2039 Colton Blvd, Billings, MT on June 16th at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Boy Scouts of America, Montana Council to support the Scout Camp Scholarship fund.
