One Nation, Under God

A few personnel changes at 'Your Community Newspaper'

If you have been in the Phillips County News office of late, you will have noticed some changes in who is manning (or womaning) the front desks at the shop.

Sophia Hebert, daughter of the paper's publisher and the one plucking the keyboard for this story, has been filling in as office manager at the shop as Debbie Solberg, who has been the PCN's office manager for 11 years, took over as the Advertising Manager at the beginning of June replacing Noah McCann who left for seminary school in Ontario, Calif.

Debbie's move to advertising left us with a vacancy in the office manager position, so Sophia helped out on a temporary basis for the last five weeks. Sophia, who will be a sophomore at Dodson High School next year, will spend most of July recuperating from working 40-plus hours a week by taking drivers education very soon. The PCN would like to wish Sophia good luck at drivers ed and thank her for a job very well done this past month.

"I had a good time working at the newspaper and I learned a lot," Sophia said. "It was nice to meet so many different people in the community and I look forward to seeing all of you around the county."

We are able to say farewell to Sophia because we have a new office manager at the PCN as Ashley Scheffelmaer took over the duties, full-time, last Wednesday. Ashley is a graduate of Malta High School's Class of 2018 and her interests include photography, ranching and her pets (she will also be a staff photographer.)

"I am excited to be working at the PCN and look forward to learning about community news," Ashley said. "Besides working in the front office, I will also be out in the community taking pictures so I will see you soon."
