One Nation, Under God

Trying to stay hydrated

We will see how long this lasts.

Believe it or not, when I lived in Florida, I tried my hand at jogging. I would huff and puff up and down the street for a two-mile outing while my band was not touring.

I would jog to the gym, work out for an hour and a half and then jog back home.

Fast forward to today and the only things that I want to do outside is smoke meat or take care of my lawn.

Susan and I used to walk around town, but it did not last for me. The reason; mosquitoes.

These mosquitoes in Phillips County are vicious and so they broke my already weak will to do any form of cardio outside.

Ever since having our first child, I have fallen out of going to the gym and instead of working any form of manual labor, I have been doing most of my work in an office behind a computer.

I gained weight and more than I would care to admit. Since I don't yet have the motivation to work out as I did in my younger years, I decided to try something else.

That something is drinking gratuitous amounts of water.

At a garage sale I found a 52-ounce mug that I have been filling with ice and then water daily. My goal has been to drink three mugs during the work day. Throughout the day the ice melts and each mug get closer to around a full 52 ounces.

I have no clue how much water I am drinking a day, but I do know that it is a lot more than I normally drink, which was not much.

I have noticed that I must go to the bathroom more frequently, but I also have a lot more energy than I have had in the past several months.

I know that I will probably get bored of drinking so much water, but I know that it is good for me, considering the strength of the coffee that I drink in the morning. I know my kidneys must be thankful.

Lincoln has been great lately as far as stomach issues go. He has been smiling a lot lately. One night after not seeing him until 8 at night, he saw me in the dark and smiled at me. It was one of those moments that I knew he loves his dadda.
