One Nation, Under God

Loring News for August 1, 2018

7-25. The Loring Woman's Club met at Heather Simonson's home for the first meeting of the new year. We decided on our raffle prizes for the fall dance. First prize will be a Traeger grill and second prize is an Alexis spot. We discussed in detail the food for the Sunday Funday which is July 29 in the Loring Park.

Bella and Luke Lawless have been helping out Carol and Pete Lumsden when they have time. Sympathy from the Loring community to the David Erickson family of Saco. David was Connie

Wasson's father. Paula Morrison, Pete and Carol Lumsden and Dixie Stordahl attended the

funeral in Saco on Monday.

Sunday afternoon Lu Besel, Diana Engel, Carol Lumsden and I went to the Fort Peck Theater for The Leader of the Pack! It was great! The staff at the Whitewater School gave me two season passes to the plays this year and I have certainly enjoyed them! Just two plays left.

All of Trace Simonson's family attended the East-West Shrine game in Great Falls this past Saturday! Trace played for the victorious team... The East!

It is definitely dry up here. If anyone has extra rain, send it on over! The peas, lentils and winter wheat are ripening quickly.

The 4H kids are working hard on their projects for this fair. Good luck to all!

8-1. This week the people who enter items to be judged at the fair are making the final touches to the entries so they are just right! I'm sure we'll have quite a few winners up here!

Word was received that Robert Scheffelmaer passed away. Robert grew up in this area and sympathy is extended to his family.

The Sunday Funday in Loring was another huge success! Great food, lots of activities, and fellowship!

Jeannie Schroeder, Saige, and Zoey of Billings came up for the weekend and participated in the fun activities! Most of Gale Simonson's grandkids were having a great time going down the slides too! I haven't heard the final wrap-up but I know everyone had fun!

I traveled to Miles City for a paleontological get together sponsored by the Big Horn Basin Paleontology Institute. Cary Woodruff, Emily Keeble, and David Stuk represented the Great Plains Dinosaur Museum. Then we all traveled on to the Dinosaur Shindig in Ekalaka. Friday evening was a great fondue party at a local rancher's home, complete with live music. Saturday was a full day of speakers at the Lutheran Church and activities at the Carter County Museum. In the evening the lively group danced at the street dance while some of us went on the Bat Walk! It was very entertaining and educational weekend!
