One Nation, Under God
The P.C. Saddle Club's Nile-Sanctioned Ranch Rodeo was without a Saddle Bronc Category at this year's P.C. Fair but the event still featured plenty of thrills, spills, and excitement as the event hosted a crowd over 1500.
The P.C. Fair event which was held Sunday, August 5, at 1:30 p.m. in the Fair Grandstands was won by Glasgow Stockyards, who won the right to enter the Northern International Livestock Expo (NILE) Stock Show and Rodeo in Billings, an event that will be held from Saturday, October 13, through Saturday, October 20.
This year's champion team Glasgow Stockyards consisted of Jeret Warren, Tyra Furhman, Cody Perry, Ed Hinton, and Dakota Gustad. They were purchased at the event's team Calcutta for $425 by Denny McCarty and Gary Anderson. The team scored 23 points.
"This will be our first (NILE) for us and we are very excited to do that," Hinton said. "It was one of my life goals to try and get there sometime. I've been doing this for a long time."
Glasgow Stockyards took third place in three of five events including the Team Trailering, Double Trailer Relay, and Wild Cow Milking, which were also the final three events of the afternoon.
"I think we worked pretty well together today," Hinton said. "And we drew good. The livestock was good for us and we just got out and had a lot of fun."
Hinton would explain why the Ranch Rodeo is such an important event and what it means to the Ranching Community.
"For example the Wild Cow Milking," Hinton said. "Say that you are out on the range and you have a calf that is maybe not mothered up or there is something wrong with her and you've got to rope to bet some milk for that calf."
He went on to say how the doctoring event was also a good exercise.
"You're out riding on your yearlings and they've got some foot rot or a bad eye or something, so you are going to have to rope it, tail him down, tie him up and doctor him."
Top Horse went to Jim Robinson and Shayne Bishop won the Reserve Top Horse.
The runner-up team who scored 19.5 was Overpass Ranch. The team consisted of Tanner Anderson, Jett Anderson, Shayne Bishop, and AJ Crasco. They were purchased by The Overpass Wives for $800 as the high bid team.

She just kind of tucked her head and just wanted to stand. That was the best part about it. We drew a good cow, she wanted to stand, I jumped on the tail and just held her there, milked her and got it done."
