    The Mustang Foundation Scholarship deadline is fast approaching. The scholarship applications are due by April 14, 2023. You can leave them at Malta High School, The First State Bank, or mail them to us at Box 757. The Landusky Scholarships are now available to descendants of anyone that went to school in Landusky but alumni will get first preference on the scholarships.     The Malta Class of 1972 made a very generous donation of $6,000.00 to the Mustang Foundation. Talking with Malta High School Principal Mr. Bleth, it was decided that the best use of the money would be to purchase a new set of puzzle desks and chairs for a high school English room.     On December 24, 1995, the Malta High School and Junior high were destroyed by a fire. As so often happens in this community, the people of Malta were eager and willing to help in any way that they could. Many people in our great state wanted to help so donations of money, materials, and time were made by many people and Malta students and Alumni, to get the kids back in school and sporting events.     It is with great pleasure that the Mustang Foundation will be the recipient of one new scholarship which will be a trades scholarship (makes two of those) and the previous 4 added last year from the Late Michael Veseth and Rosemary Sylwester Veseth.     The Mustang Foundation will be drawing for the winners of their raffle on Monday, December 21, at 7:00 p.m. during the late night opening at First State Bank. Tickets are $25.00, and prizes include a quarter of beef donated by Triangle Telephone, gift baskets, and many gifts cards. Money raised from the raffle and the 2019 Soup Feed was used to purchase 10 laptops, valued at $5,000.00, for the elementary teachers to better serve the remote learning students during the current COVID-19 pandemic.
