    The Saco Schools held their 2019 Christmas Concert, December 10th. Kindergarten thru 12th grade performed an array of Christmas melodies. Kindergarten thru 5th grade did a small play and reworked words to many traditional songs. The Junior High School 6 thru 8 Choir joined in on Go Tell It On The Mountain with the 4 person High School Choir.     Saturday, April 29th, Saco, Hinsdale, Whitewater, and Malta will be holding Prom together in Malta. It is so nice to see the schools come together for an evening of glam and glitz. Stay safe! Saco held a pre festival concert, April 18th. A great opportunity for the kids to practice and get ready for festival which was held in Wolf Point this year.     The Junior and Senior classes left Wednesday for Helena to attend State Legislature. Such an amazing opportunity. The Saco track team attended the Nashua meet in Glasgow. Chris DePuydt placed 5th in 100m, 2nd in high jump, 5th in long jump and 3rd in 400m. Ty Murphy placed 1st in pole vault, 5th in high jump. Dustin Ostrom had a personal record in the 100m.     The groundhog was right, we still had six more weeks of winter. Let's hope he didn't underestimate that figure. Saco received 4-5 inches of snow in the last storm. Yippee. At least there aren't many mosquitoes. A turn in the weather was fortunate for the dedicated town skaters. Chelsea and Josey Quinones cleared the fresh snow off the smoother than ever ice just in time for a Sunday afternoon game of hockey.     Saco High School BPA members tested in Sidney for regionals. Members Christopher DePuydt, Chandler Pippin, Christian Menge, and Devon Salveson, will all go on to state. BPA advisor, Kelly Downing is enjoying her first year as advisor. Great job boys. The Lil’ Mavericks, coached by Lexie Haynes and Lacey Beil, performed for the first time at the Saco versus Brockton game held here in Saco. They did a fantastic job.
