The Malta Lutheran Church Women of ELCA began Quilting January 18 through March 22, 2016. Quilters met in the church basement on Monday afternoons and Tuesdays 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Our women completed 27 polyester quilts. On November 6th, 34 quilts were placed on the pews and were blessed by Pastor Bob Nagy. In June, two quilts were given to a family who lost their house to a fire in Zortman. The Malta Mustangs backed up their perfect 8-0 conference record last weekend by winning the 2017 District 2B Tournament Championship in Malta last Saturday against Glasgow. The score was 67-27. The Lady Mavericks were able to punch their ticket to their second straight Eastern C Divisional tournament by placing as the second seed in the 3C District Tourney last Saturday. The North Country Mavericks co-op team was able to punch their first Eastern Divisional ticket last Saturday night by taking the third seed in the 2017 3C District Tournament in Glasgow. The season ended for the Dodson basketball teams last Friday in consolation at the 3C District Tournament in Glasgow last Friday, February 17. The Dodson Coyotes' hopes to continue ended on Friday evening as the team fell 51-42 to the Lustre Christian Lions, who then lost out in the District's consolation game.
