  • Watch out for those deer

    Parker Heinlein, Outdoor Columnist|Mar 23, 2016

Forget about wolves and bears, watch out for the deer. A university researcher in Indiana warns that many midwestern communities may soon be overrun with whitetails because twice as many fawns survive in urban areas compared to rural. Tim Carter, a biology professor at Ball State, tracked deer in and around Bloomington, Indiana in 2013-14. He found that coyotes caused 92 percent of the deaths of 8-week-old fawns in rural areas while vehicle collisions killed 17 percent of the fawns in urban...

  • Thank you M-ettes, we love you

    Brandon Nicholson, Columnist|Mar 23, 2016

It feels as if I’ve been everywhere and back again in the past few weeks. Travelling with the rest of the M-ette entourage sure is tiring. However, I would not change a single thing about it. It has been amazing watching my little sisters and the rest of the girls cap off a perfect season. They sure are tough, I cannot think of a better group of girls. The best part of tournament season for me is seeing the family together, both distant and immediate. In our family nothing brings people together better than basketball. It’s always been tha...

  • This time I was ready

    Pierre Bibbs, Sports Editor|Mar 23, 2016

This past State B Tournament in Butte was my favorite state outing so far, for a few reasons. It was great seeing PJ interact with complete strangers by making them laugh and every once in a while it’s just nice to travel. This past trip marks the fourth time that I’ve had the chance to not only go to State, but the fourth time that I’ve experienced a championship game. In previous championship games, I’ve always made some kind of food related mistake. This year I did wise up a little bit. My wi...

The third place finishers of the Hi-Line Whist Tournament were Malcom Clouse and Margo Rush and fourth place was the team of Don and Drew Brewer. We apologize for these mistakes....

  • Counseling Corner for the week of March 23, 2016

    American Counseling Association|Mar 23, 2016

Change happens to all of us. Sometimes it's gradual, as when we watch our parents (and ourselves) age, and sometimes it's very abrupt, as when our job ends unexpectedly. Most of us don't like sudden change. We can easily accept small changes, but large, life-altering transitions can be frightening and stressful. But major changes don't have to be negative experiences. One way is to view change as an opportunity, not a loss. Losing your job, for example, will produce negative feelings even if it wasn't your fault. The trick is to see what...

O'Donnell will be well worth it and attend to this meeting and then keep right on boosting. Philli...
