Family gathered from near and far to celebrate Esther Brosseau's 100th Birthday on Saturday, March 25 in Billings. Esther was born March 25, 1923, at her home in Plentywood, Mont. to Charles and Myrtle (Garrison) Kollman. John C. Haldemann, 93, passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior on March 13, 2023, at the Sweet Memorial Nursing Home in Chinook, MT. On Friday, March 24, 2023, the Phillips County Sheriff's Office received a call from the Malta Elementary School regarding a student stating a firearm was present in their backpack on school property. The Malta Mustangs, North Country Mavericks, and Dodson Coyotes boys basketball teams all landed athletes to their respective All-Conference teams in 2023. The Mustangs took second place in the 2023 State B Boys Basketball Tournament, as well as the 2023 Northern B Divisional Title. The Malta Mustang AAU Wrestling Club ended their season at the Metra in Billings at the Montana Open March 24-26.
