City Council Meeting The Malta City Council held its bi-weekly meeting at City Hall on Tuesday, March 23, at 5 p.m. All councilpersons, James Sintler, William Hicks, Bonnie Wiederrick and David Rummel, were in attendance. Phillips County Museum curator, Lori Taylor, said the museum is ready to be open on April 1, 2021. The hours for this year are 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Malta homeschool families held a Homeschool Science Fair on Friday, March 26th. The drought that is covering a good portion of the United States seems to be holding on and there have not been any large rains or moisture to make conditions better. Hopefully, we will start getting some rain where it is needed the most soon. A small treasure was found in the backyard of a local Malta residents’ house. This person has asked to remain unnamed at this time. At least until the “treasure” has been looked at by an antiquities dealer and the item has been deemed authentic. Lifelong Saco, MT resident Brett Allen Whitaker passed away peacefully in his sleep with his wife by his side Wednesday morning, March 10th, 2021 from pancreatic cancer. Marty was born in Lewistown, MT on May 25, 1947, to Carl and Helen (Siegfried) Vennes as the second of five children.
