  • Second Hunter Education Classes offered in Glasgow

    Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Hunter Education course dates have been set for the Glasgow area. There will be a regular classroom course May 20-22, and an adult field course on May 28. This is the last hunter education course that will be held before the June 1 deadline for deer, elk, and antelope. To be eligible to hunt and be fully certified during the 2016 season, hunters must be 12-years old by January 16, 2017.     The Malta Mustangs took second place at the Scottie Qualifiers meet in Glasgow on Monday, April 18. Malta's 78 points was second to Glasgow who scored 120. Plentywood had 46 points and took third. Wolf Point was fourth with 44 and Poplar took fifth with 37. Dominic Judd led Malta taking first place in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 17.25.     Last Saturday was a cold and windy day with a threat of precipitation, but the Malta Athletic Club invitational reached its conclusion without a single drop hitting beautiful Marian Hills Golf Course.     The Malta M-ettes showed great depth last Monday, April 18 in Glasgow as the team won the Scottie Qualifier Meet. The team had a total of 156 points. Glasgow took second after scoring 92 points.     On April 7-9, 2016, the Montana Tech American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Student Chapter attended the 2016 ASCE Pacific Northwest Student Conference hosted by the University of Idaho.     Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks biologists have completed the 2016 survey of the Missouri River Breaks (MRB) and Bears Paw elk herds in Region 6. The aerial surveys were completed in February and March by Region 6 biologists Scott Hemmer and Drew Henry.
