Dino August Martinez, made his initial appearance hearing at the 17th Judicial Court on April 29, pleading not guilty to four charges, two of them felonies, one of the felonies an attempted assault on a peace officer. Dear Editor, To the Phillips County Commissioners, I see the Road Department making an effort to level and flatten some of the curves on the roads that sloped. I think that it’s creating a rollover hazard on our roads along with a washboard condition curves by forcing people to go really slow on curves. Then this results in a rapid acceleration on exit of the curve, gradually creating the washboard condition that gradually carves the whole curve. Carrol Ereaux MALTA-Carrol Ereaux suffered a massive heart attack, and passed away on the family ranch April 30, 2014. The Rosary and sharing was held 7:00 P.M. Justinn Marshall competed at the Great Falls College rodeo this past weekend, held in the Four Seasons Arena. Going into the short go on Saturday night, she was splitting 3rd in Goat Tying with a time of 7.5. She beat that time with a 7.4, placing her 1st in the short go, and also winning the average. Kienenberger’s had a crew helping them brand on Sunday although it was a snowy day. Phillips County will accept resident recommendations for projects that may be funded in part, by the Community Transportation Enhancement Program (CTEP), a capital transportation improvements program. The County will accept project ideas at a meeting scheduled for Mon-day, May 13, 2014 at 2:30 pm at the Phillips County Courthouse. At the April 9th Malta City Council Meeting, Malta Mayor Shyla Jones announced that there is a vacancy on the Phillips Transit Board with the departure of Curtis Starr from the position. The city will be appointing a “public member” to finish his term which ends in June. “Anybody that is interested is to contact the mayor or a council person and submit their name,” said Carolyn Schmoeckel, City Clerk and Treasurer. The Malta M-ettes shined in the annual Malta athletic Club Invitational meet last Tuesday, April 29. Malta was led by Freshman Sophia Stiles and Darby Schye, both of which placed first in events at the meet.
