    Paul Gilbertson, a 1969 graduate of Malta High School was killed in a skiing accident. To Honor Paul’s memory, his parents and his wife decided to establish a memorial scholarship in his honor. Paul was an avid wrestler at Malta High School and so they established this scholarship as a wrestling scholarship. They gave the wrestling coaches a list of criteria for this award and so the wrestling coaches for the last 40 years have been picking this scholarship.     The Eastern C Divisional was hosted last week in Sidney and all three Phillips County Class C teams were represented at the meet. Whitewater was the only team to post points. The Penguins took seventh at the meet with a total of 30 points, qualifying all three athletes for the 2016 State C Track meet in Missoula tomorrow.     There will be an opportunity for the youth of Malta and Phillips County to learn the game of golf this summer as a result of a grant from the Montana Golf Association. Malta High School golf coaches, Lynne and Jim Nevrivy wrote a grant for $1,000 to be used to purchase youth and teen golf clubs. The grant was selected to receive the full amount requested.     Both Saco and Whitewater girls’ track teams were represented at the 2016 Eastern C Divisional in Sidney last week. Whitewater took eleventh as a team with ten points while Saco took thirteenth with six points. Kayleigh Cummings was Whitewater’s lone placer at the meet, taking first place in shot put with a throw of 32-7, a new personal best.
