    Issues with motorists speeding down streets in Malta where children are often at play was an issue again discussed at the Malta City Council meeting, this time with a positive update. Phillips County Sheriff Jerry Lytle told the Council last Tuesday in Malta that citations were issued to people speeding on 6th Street West and Malta Public Works Director Jim Truelove announced that more 15 miles per hour speed limit signs have been posted in the area.     Judy Michael, Malta, won the Second Place Award in the Montana Watercolor Members Show held at the Lewistown Art Center. The show is during the month of May and includes entries from all members in the Montana Watercolor Society. The winning painting was an old barn in the snow.     Donald "Don" Plouffe, 85, of Saco, Mont., passed away the afternoon of May 26, 2019 in Glasgow, Mont. Don was born June 13, 1933, in Malta, Mont., to Louis and Mabel (Homeier) Plouffe. He was raised and educated in the East Strater Community and helped on the family farm. Don was working on a seismograph crew when he met his best friend and lifetime love, Nellie McNamara.
