    Pierre Bibbs, Sports Editor|Jun 26, 2019

"I would like to let the town of Malta know that I have never forgotten where I came from," Watts told the PCN. "Even sometimes when I am in this city and it feels stressful to me or when things happen, like an audition doesn't go well, I just look up at the sky and...

  • Whitewater News and Opinion for June 26, 2019

    Helen Austin, PCN Correspondent|Jun 26, 2019

We all hope and pray that the present sad situation does not cause war. Pray for peace universally. Sally Austin of Whitewater went to a Council on Aging meeting last Wednesday. KMMR recently featured a program on suicide and it had Janice Reichelt, a registered nurse, and others as contacts and speakers. There is going to be a play about this sad subject at Malta High School. Recently, I was at a local café and visited with Noelle Ehret. Her mother was Glenna Soennichsen, a former Whitewater...

  • Remembering Spot

    Parker Heinlein, Outdoors columnist|Jun 26, 2019

I buried Spot yesterday. Planted her in the strawberry patch in the side yard where we can see her grave from our bedroom window. Her death, while long anticipated, was more difficult to deal with than I expected. She’d been dying for a long time. I thought I’d be ready. After all, she was nearly 16 years old, and not our only dog. Gaunt and unsteady on her feet for the past couple of months, she looked like the walking dead. We’d gotten her from a litter in Hardin a month before my mother...

  • Staying put, for now

    Jun 26, 2019

We love the people here. We love the community. Everyone has been really encouraging throughout this process. Thank you for your kind words and not wanting us to leave. The last...

    Nick Thomas|Jun 26, 2019

Originally airing on NBC from 1962 to 1971, and currently rerunning on several cable networks, the...
