Montana Shakespeare in the Parks (MSIP) couldn't have picked a nicer time to perform Richard III, a play that MSIP just added for the 2016 season. The play was held last Thursday on the south lawn of the City's Courthouse with over a hundred viewers. Raina Mortenson held an obedience class for dogs on Friday, July 1st in Trafton Park which included learning the rules of dog showmanship. I attended the course with my Siberian Husky puppy, Kaya. We started out the event by making our own showmanship lead by braiding paracord, we then began practicing simple commands with our dogs. It was early last Sunday morning, before anyone had arrived for the opening of the Malta Skatepark, that I dropped into one of the bowls. Delores "Brownie" Deo Berendzen passed away June 24, 2016, in Havre, Montana, after a battle with cancer. She was born July 9, 1938, in Malta, Montana, the daughter of Guy and Blanche (Agard) Deo. Brownie attended school in Malta graduating in 1956. She married Fred Messerly in 1957. They had four children: Christine, Jolene, Vance and Charlie. They later divorced. Clifford Miller (Kipper), 91, a resident of Stevensville, passed away of natural causes on Tuesday, June 14, 2016. He was born on July 20, 1924 in Malta to parents James George Miller and Mary Jurgensen. He was raised on a farm where he developed a life-long love of animals. Michael D. "Mike" Morrow, 71, of Roseville, CA passed away on June 14, 2016 at Kaiser Permanente Hospital with family by his side following a short illness. Mike was born on April10, 1945 in Malta, Mont., to Dr. William and Carolyn (Cook) Morrow. He was the seventh of eight children. The Malta Senior Citizens hosted several meals, a Christmas potluck, numerous donations and was awarded a grant to earn money towards the new furnace and central air system. It is now a reality and the Center will host a summer potluck Saturday, July 16 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. The Center will provide the hot dogs, buns, condiments and refreshments and ask that others bring salads or desserts. Triangle Communications (Triangle) is supporting eight area non-profit organizations through the Triangle 4-H Beef Grant Program. Residents from over 30 US states have visited the PC Museum this year! In addition we have hosted international visitors from Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Switzerland, Australia, and France. Visitors comment time and time again about the quality of our exhibits and our museum. Kudos to the resi-dents of Phillips County who give their time, treasures, and support to the museum!
