Malta Dirt Daubers and Kiwanis members spent a busy Saturday beautifying the H.G. Robinson House. Over two hundred red, pink, and white geraniums were planted in the flower beds located along the front porch area. New flagstone paths were also laid between the beds. A popular Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Region 6 program that allows kids and their friends or families to check out free fishing rods and tackle is in full swing again this year. In time for summer fishing, FWP staff has restocked and maintained over 350 fishing rods in most all the 43 different location sites across Montana’s Hi-Line. The 2019 Malta Parks and Recreation Softball League kicked off last Tuesday, July 9, at Trafton Park as nine teams played a total of six games. Winners of the 6 p.m. games included the Lucky Bullet Rusty Bullets who defeated Oh My Quad 12-11 and the MEC Grounders who defeated Independence Bank 10-6. The Malta Swim Team scored a total of 164 combined points at the Lewistown Swim Meet last weekend with only seven swimmers. The event was held on Saturday, July 13 through Sunday, July 14. Though it was over 90 degrees outside several co-ed softball teams came together to raise funds for Malta's Department of Parks and Recreation last Saturday, July 13, at Trafton Park. The Phillips County Boots and Saddles Rodeo featured a different layout for the 2019 season, having held it's only events of the year on last Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14.
