A fun time was had by ALL. The Fort Peck Theatre hosted “Pinocchio” at the PC Museum this week. A wonderful turnout of over 175 adults and kids. A talented group of actors kept our audience spellbound with their dramatic clothes and actions. The word Theatre brought back some high school memories for me. Sympathy to Sue Olson and Clarie Stahl who attended the funeral of a friend’s little boy. He was a victim of a hit and run driver. Such a terrible tragedy. Sympathy to all of them. Malta Dirt Daubers recently dedicated several trees at Hill Crest Park in loving memory of members who have passed away. President Toni Ziegler and member Dana Rogers presented the dedication in memory of Florence Schumacher, aunt to Sarah Brettin, also in the picture. Kimberlee Dawn Adkins, 52, became an angel on July 5, 2019, finally ending her courageous battle with cancer. Kimberlee was born August 17, 1966 in Havre, Mont., to Sidney and Merrimae Solberg. She was raised 12 miles north of Dodson, Mont., on the family ranch with younger sister Laura. Her favorite parts of her childhood were; spending time with her parents doing ranch work, riding horses, and helping take care of all the animals, and learning how to sew and cook. Many Solberg's returned for another funeral with the passing of Selma Miller. Condolences are sent to all the Solberg family, relatives, and friends. Selma's daughters Esther and Mary Lynn stayed with Polly and Edward Solberg as did their son Nathan who came from Miles City. Tim Solberg and daughter Amanda of Billings also came for the funeral. Much of the hay barley has been swathed and huge bales are being dropped in the fields as the farmers store up the feed for winter use. To me, it looks like a great year, if the swathes can get baled before the wind blows the hay around or the rain hits it. The grain crops are starting to turn golden, won't be long now until those big combines are knocking down the grain and it'll be in storage granaries until needed. The Montana Drag Racing Association (MDRA) was present last weekend at the Hi-Line Drag Strip as the Phillips County Motorsports (PCMS) Group held it's third weekend of the year. The vacancy at the position of Head Football Coach at Malta High School was filled on the morning of Monday, July 22, as Nick Oxarart agreed to coach the team for a second stint. Oxarart had been a part of the team as a head coach or assistant coach all but one season for 2006.
