    Krista Fahlgren, PCN Editor|Sep 30, 2020

Fallon Handley was celebrating her wedding anniversary in Fort Benton when she got the idea. "I've always liked the bridge at Trafton since I moved back and started using the (MaltaTrails) trails," she said. The bridge, which serves as the trailhead for the Trafton Trail, has long been impassable. The decking was removed years ago and only the impressive steel...

  • The Rake Force: A New Hope

    Parker Heinlein, Outdoors Columnist|Sep 30, 2020

It’s not often that I weigh in on public policy. Years ago I suggested that folks who didn’t farm or ranch should live in town, limiting sprawl and taking advantage of existing infrastructure. That didn’t happen. Here’s another idea. Maybe this one will gain some traction. The wildfire smoke recently was awful. It lasted for days and made breathing difficult. It seems to get worse every summer. Something needs to be done. Smokey Bear’s tired old mantra simply isn’t working. We need the Rake Forc...

  • Auntie K starts chasing you, and then Apologizes And Various Other Things

    Krista Fahlgren, PCN Editor|Sep 30, 2020

The number one question I’ve been asked since starting at the PCN has been whether or not we would bring back the “People on the Street” feature, made famous by the legendary Anti Mary Ann Dooner, and later, the infamous John Degal. Honestly, you have no idea how much this idea tickled me because I started practicing for that very job fifteen years ago. It’s how I met Kathryn Hofer. One night, for some reason, I felt the need to walk around with a clip-board, (or was it a stack of bar napkins? It’s hard to say.) randomly asking people, ...

  • Dodson News for September 30, 2020

    Eldora Henry, PCN Correspondent|Sep 30, 2020

Another week has passed and it has certainly been fall weather. The winds have blown hard and the leaves have suddenly turned golden and the wind is doing a good job of blowing them off and all over. The COVID scare is around, some make it a small thing but then we look at the reports of all the new cases all over the state we have to take it seriously. It is too bad that it has closed so many places so there is hardly any social life anymore and certainly not as we all knew it before. Schools...

The guys were really making a fuss and the gals were just being patient! It really is phenomenal how they are really not bothered by people and there were lots of people! Thank y...

Sophomore Sammie Wisher led the Penguins with a time of 25:03.49, which gave her a placing of 27th. Wisher shaved close to two minutes off of...
