    Kari Hould, PCN Staff|Oct 26, 2022

The loss of a family member, friend, or loved one is one of the toughest things we ever have to face. Not only is the loss heartbreaking at the time...some people never recover from it. What if you could help save a small child from a near drowning, or had the skills and knowledge to stop blood from a bad cut...or how to give life sustaining breaths of air to a choking victim? What if you had those skills...and didn't use them? What if it was YOU that needed CPR in a crowded room and no one...

The Malta P.E.O. Chapter AK held a special meeting in September to initiate three new members, Rhonda McLaughlin, Deanna Arnold, and Colleen Cluck. Like most organizations, Covid made its meetings and operations difficult. Because of that money for our scholarships lagged. The Phillips County Museum opened the doors of the Robinson House for the special meeting and the setting was perfect. • I Long for Days of Driving Snow and Freezing Cold

    Parker Heinlein, Outdoors Columnist|Oct 26, 2022

I try to avoid writing about the weather because it usually changes when I do. Here’s hoping it works this time. Since bird season opened on Sept. 1 nearly every day has been clear, sunny, and warm. I remember it raining twice in the last two months. I didn’t hunt either day. The weather has been so monotonous I can even recall the handful of windy days we’ve had. I would have moved to Arizona if this was the climate I sought. I long for days of driving snow and freezing cold. But it’s hard to c...
