On Friday, October 21, two Phillips County women became official American Kennel Club (AKC) groomers, thanks to the effort and expertise of Laura Pankratz, owner of Little Mutt Groomin' Hut in Malta. On Monday, October 31, little goblins, cute spooks and bloody-mouth vampires converged on the Veteran's Park in number. Independence Bank hosted their 2022 Happy Halloween Spooktacular and decorated the gazebo at the park. Shirley Marie Vickhammer, age 69, went home to be with her Savior on October 26th, 2022. Shirley was born in Glasgow, MT, to Harry and Stella Fauth on August 31, 1953. The oldest of nine children, she was raised in Larslan, MT, and graduated from Opheim High School. Kristina Nelson, beloved mother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 25, 2022. She was 44. Kristina was born in Glasgow, Montana, on March 16, 1978, to Leora Robinson and Pat Marks. She is the eldest of three and was very close with her siblings, Becky and Mike.
