For the fourth time in as many years, the Malta M-ettes have made it to the Northern B Divisional Tournament. This year the team will enter the tournament as 2B's second seed after posting a 2-2 record at the 2B tourney in Glasgow last weekend. It was an outing that the M-ettes defeated Wolf Point twice and lost to Glasgow twice. The Malta Mustangs look primed and ready as they are about to take on the Huntley Project Red Devils for the second time this season. Malta lost a close one the first time these teams met in Malta's first game of the season. The game came down to the last play as the Mustangs were only a completion away from taking the lead. The North Country Mavericks' 2015 outing came to an end last Friday night in Scobey as the team lost to the Nashua Porcupines and Lustre Christian Lions at the 3C District Volleyball Tournament. Ultimately first place Scobey and second place Nashua would advance to the Eastern C Divisional Tournament this weekend. Two Malta High School seniors Devon Raybon and John Waters were chosen for a high honor in their young music careers last summer. The 2015 State Music Festival an event which was held at the Alberta Bair Theatre in Billings on October 16 featured the state's most talented band and choir students which included Raybon, who plays trombone and Waters who sings bass. MALTA- Ethel Schmoeckel, 89, passed away at her home on November 2, 2015 of natural causes with her family at her side. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 5, 2015; 7 p.m. at Kirkwood Memorial Chapel. Funeral Services will be Friday, November 6, 2015; 11 a.m. at Malta Lutheran Church.
