The Malta City Council last Tuesday approved the purchase of $56,875 upgrade to the broken controller at the town's water tank. At an earlier City Council Meeting, Public Works Director James Brown told the council that the controllers at the water tower in town were not working and that City Works employees were climbing the tower to manually adjust the water pumps. The Phillips County 4-H program is hosting the Toys for Tots program in Phillips County this year. We try each year to give a child one toy that they have put on their wish list. The Malta Mustangs started their basketball practices on November 20 and with the new season starting Malta welcomes new faces. Sophomore point guard Cru Darrah showed he was able to play ball last season, particularly in the state tournament games against Joliet and against Huntley in the third place game. "It was fun.
