    The Malta High School band and choir concert was held this past week to a packed house on Tuesday, December 14. The high school full choir kicked things off under the direction of Mrs. Nancy Murdock, with an acapella song called O Magnum Mysterium by Evan Ramos.     The Bank of Malta held its Santa Night on its traditional first Monday of December, the 6th this year. "We were really excited to be able to have our Santa Night again this year," said Bank of Malta Branch Manager Jackie Sorlie. "We were sad when Santa couldn't come and meet the kids last year."     Malta Fire Chief Josh Newman brought a couple of items to the City Council meeting on Tuesday, December 14. Newman brought in a new fire monitor, which he explained is just like the high-flow deck guns that the department has on the trucks, only the new ones can be brought down to ground level. “With these, we can hit the fire a lot more directly and hopefully save a few more structures,” said Newman. “The monitors also allow us to move a lot more water with a lot less manpower.     The Phillips County Library has been having some issues with the MontanaLibrary2Go.org app. The company that the ebooks and audiobooks is purchased from; Overdrive, has been making some updates to its program. Overdrive would like all users to update to the Libby by Overdrive app. It is still free and the company will quit supporting the original Overdrive app. One change that was made recently is a different configuration for the library card numbers.     Mustang Wrestling in Action at CMR Holiday Classic The Mustang grapplers took to the mat in Great Falls this past Friday and Saturday, December 17 and 18, for the CMR Holiday Classic. This was a large tournament with teams ranging from Class AA to Class C. 54 boys teams and 27 girls teams participated in the tournament.
