Phillips County 4-H Shooting Sports program competes in Bozeman

Braving the spring storm the first weekend in March, seven Phillips County 4-H Shooting Sports program youth participated in the State 4-H Shoot in Bozeman. The tournament was held March 1st and 2nd with youth from around the state competing.

In the air rifle (3 positions – prone, standing, kneeling) sporter (coaches may help the youth during competition) division, Erica Smith placed 5th and Juliana Holt placed 7th in the 9 – 10 year olds. In the Precision(coaches may not help during competition) 9 – 10 year olds, Danie Rhodes received a 1st place medal with Jesse Orahood receiving a 2nd place medal in the 15 and older age division.

We had 4 youth participating in the archery primitive division. The results are as follows; Primitive 9 – 10 year old division; Erica Smith received a 2nd place medal and Danie Rhodes receiving 5th place. Primitive 11 -12 year olds; Grayson Waters received a 1st place medal with Kooper Oxarart receiving 4th and Tanner Smith 7th.

Competing in the 3D archery (this a fun completion event) under primitive 9- 10 year were; Erica Smith received 1st place and Danie Rhodes received 2nd place medals. Primitive (11-12 yr old), Kooper Oxarart received the overall match winner plaque (top score for all age divisions) and Grayson Waters received a 2nd place medal.
