MALTA-Carrol Ereaux suffered a massive heart attack, and passed away on the family ranch April 30, 2014.

The Rosary and sharing was held 7:00 P.M. Sunday, May 4 at the Kirkwood Memorial Chapel. The funeral was held at the Malta Old Gym at 2:00 on Monday. In lieu of flowers the family asks you to consider donations to the Malta Fire Department. Condolences for the family may be left at http://www.kirkwoodfuneralhome.com. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Kirkwood Funeral Home in Malta.

Carrol was a prominent rancher, farmer, and businessman in Phillips County where he lived his entire life. He was huge supporter of commerce in the county and he was well known for helping many people. Carrol will be deeply missed by a host of friends and family.

Carrol was born on December 25, 1944; He grew up in South Wagner and graduated from Malta High School in 1962. Carrol began working for local ranchers at the young age of 12 and ran a paper route to help his family make ends meet. He married his wife, Jean, in 1966. They worked together 47 years raising their family and building their farm and ranch operation. Carrol loved to hunt and fish and spend time with friends and family. But more than anything he loved to grow wheat and raise cattle. Carrol deeply loved his family and he gave all he had to help them however he could. He was a man with the highest degree of integrity and he was respected by all who knew him. Carrol had a passion for his life on the ranch and he was driven to be successful. He set high standards for excellence and always expected more of himself than anyone else. He never backed down from any challenge and no obstacle was too big to find a way around. He lived every day until he died and died where he was most happy at the Lazy J 5.

Carrol was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Ilene (Burlingame) Ereaux, sister LaDonna Itciana, brother-in-law Jim Fitzpatrick of Helena, and his beloved brother Ezzie Ereaux.

Survivors include his wife Jean Ereaux, son Chad Ereaux and grandson Jordon Olson of Malta. Daughter Billie Bray, son- in- law Ken Bray and grandsons Paden and Wyatt Bray of Texas. He also leaves brothers and sisters-- Roger Ereaux, Malta; June Fitzpatrick, Helena; Claris Darrah, Malta; Phyllis Harrington, Helena; Roy and Marian Ereaux, Malta; Byron and Lynette Ereaux, Malta; Stella and John Murray, Great Falls; Darla and Leo Barthelmess, Malta; and a host of nieces and nephews and close friends.
