Scott Wallace Dunbar Moore

MALTA-Scott Wallace Dunbar Moore, 23, a truck driver, passed away with his mom and sisters at his side, after a hard fought battle of brain cancer, in the early hours on Tuesday, May 6 at his home in Malta.

The family received friends at 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 9, at the Kirkwood Memorial Chapel in Malta. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 10, at the Malta Lutheran Church. Cremation will follow the services. Condolences for the family may be left at http://www.kirkwoodfuneralhome.com.

Scotty was born in Malta Montana, on November 20, 1990 and attended Saint Mary's, Malta Public Schools, and finishing out his high school at Whitewater High. Scotty took part in basketball, football, wrestling & golf; there was never a sport he wouldn't try. He was a ten year 4-H member, played hockey with the Canadian Val Marie Mustangs and the Ice Hawks of Havre, Montana. He was on the Malta Swim Team, Saddle Club and in 20 years, he never missed a Milk River Wagon Train. He enjoyed all kinds of music and especially his fiddle lessons with Lynn Cummings. Scotty worked road construction right out of high school, and then went to work for Sanjel Exploration out of Chinook. He was employed by Harvey Ost Oil & Field Services at the time of his diagnosis.

Scott was preceded in death by his father; Wallace Carlier of Cal Marie Sask., grandparents Archie Dunbar; Hazel and John Moore; Ruth and Kenny Truax.

Scotty is survived by his mother Dixie Moore, sister Julie Moore and nephew Nolan of Malta; sister Mary (Ray) Smail and niece MaRae of Alder. grandmother Shirley Dunbar, Whitewater; uncle Dave (Janet) Dunbar of Whitewater and cousins Missy Dunbar, Kevin Brock Doney, Tyanna Dunbar, Grant (Melissa) Dunbar and Isla; uncle Pat (Barb) Dunbar of Whitewater and cousins Sarah (Paul) Skubinna, Korbyn and Emmett; and his uncle Richard Dunbar of Whitewater. Also survived by his many, many friends who he never missed a chance to fish and camp with, only stopping to grab his dogs along the way. As we all know Scotty never met a stranger. He was well loved and will be missed by many.
