C Track and Field: Divisional Meet

Saco’s Charlotte Jolley has been this year’s biggest surprise from Phillip’s county, and her season isn't done yet.

Dodson, Saco and Whitewater all had athletes place at the Eastern C in the girl’s meet.

Jolley placed in three events, and only lost out in the 100 meter dash by a tenth of a second.

Whitewater’s Kourtney Simonson and Keira Simonson both will make the trip as well.

Dodson’s Raven Bear will participate in two events.

Ky. Simonson placed first in the 800 meter run, after posting a time of 2:33.6. Circle’s Ramsey Bailey posted a time of 2:36.8, taking second. Raven Bear just missed the mark taking sixth in the meet, with a time of 2:56.

Ky. Simonson also placed second in the 400 meter dash, with a time of 2:33.6.

Keira Simonson placed fifth in discus, with a throw of 82’8”.

Raven Bear wouldn’t leave the meet without taking the divisional crown in the 3200 meter run, posting a time of 14:20.6. Circle’s Anica Wagner, posted the next best time of 14:36.7.

She also took the last final state slot in the 1600 meter run, with a time of 6:24.80, which ended up tying Jaycee Lambert of Culbertson.

Charlotte Jolley nearly won the long jump, after clearing 15’2.5”, she placed second to Faith Vitt of Fairviewm who cleared 15’5”.

She was third in the long jump, posting a length of 31’2.75”. Faith Vitt won the event, with a jump of 33’7.75”. Bethany Lacock took second, with a jump of 33’6”.

BOYS C

Jeret Warren nearly placed at two events in the Eastern C divisional track and field meet in Wolf Point. It was a meet where only the top five in each event place.

Warren placed fourth in the 1600 meter run, with a time of 4:51. Bainville’s Chance Hyatt ran a 4:31.9 in the event, taking first. He was followed closely by Nashua’s Lane Nickels, who posted a time of 4:34.1.

Warren only missed placing in the 3200, by .20 seconds, losing the spot to Bainville’s Beau Hyatt, who had a time of 11:09.9. Warren’s time was 11:10.1.

For Dodson Nick Bear did not crush the school record, but he will have one more chance to do so at state, thanks to his ability to clear 5-8 in the high jump.

Bear placed fifth in the event. The winner, Culbertson’s Adam Buxbaum cleared 6’1”.

Class C State takes place in Great Falls, starting this Friday.
