Malmend, relay team leads Malta to sixth at Roundup meet

Even though the swim team only had 12 swimmers present at the Roundup meet, the team took home sixth place out of eleven teams that attended.

Janessa Malmend was the big winner placing first in the 11-12 100 meter freestyle with a time of 1:23.91 and first in the 50 meter backstroke, with a time of 42.15. She took fifth in the 50 meter breaststroke, with a time of 47.79. Malmend scored 36 of the team's points.

The team had two relay teams in the 11-12 women class and both teams won. The team won the 200 freestyle, with a time of 2:37.30. They also won the 200 medley with a time of 2:56.84.

Shay Garfield also took home first in the Women 13-14 100 meter breaststroke. She had a time of 1:31.98. She also placed third in the 100 freestyle, with a time of 1:18.87.

Collin Holman saw his first action of the season and took home first place in the Men 15-19 100 backstroke. He had a time of 1:15.24 in the event.

Reba Doucette took second in the 11-12 100 freestyle. She had a time of 1:27.79. She took home two third place finishes. Her first in the 50 breaststroke after posting a time of 45.50 and her second was in the 200 IM, with a time of 3:31.83.

Jenise Amestoy placed third in the Women 15-19 50 freestyle, with a time of 33.63 and in the 100 free, with a time of 1:16.97.
