Pete, who just celebrated his 80th birthday, was born on July 4, 1934 in Malta to Lloyd and Mary Tribby. He was raised in Dodson and graduated from Dodson High School. In 1954, he married Shirley Knutson and together they raised seven children; Mike (Debbie) Tribby of Malta, Chris (Jim) Taylor of Glasgow, Pam (Bill) Langel of Rudyard, Janna (Clint) Simpson of Saco, Loris (Tom) Kruse of Winnemucca, NV, Kathy Tribby of Malta, and Dawn (Barry) Crowder of Havre. Pete and Shirley would have celebrated their 60th anniversary on July 14, 2014.

Pete was a lifelong mechanic and was always fixing something for someone. Never one to be idle, he worked for the City of Malta for 10 years after "retiring" from Ezzies Wholesale after "retiring" from farming. He also drove bus for the Malta Schools for over 35 years and in his spare time, he took up woodworking. His specialty was building log bird houses and bird feeders, many of which he donated to local fund raisers. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren and proved time and again that he would do anything for them. Papa Pete loved to tease his children and granddaughters and he had a special nickname for each one.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Vi Hoover, his brother George Tribby and granddaughter Jessica Langel. He is survived by his wife Shirley, his seven children, sisters Fran Dopp, Shirley Fewer and June Cornell, brother Jim Tribby and his beloved granddaughters Amber Simpson, Rheannon Tribby, Michaela Tribby, Renee Nelson, Ronni Erickson and Shayn Crowder.
