One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News for the Week of July 23, 2014

Our sympathies go out to Sue Haag and family on the passing of her mom. Haags lived in Whitewater for years and Pastor Haag is pastor of Malta’s Hi-Line Apostolic Church. Members of his church attended a retreat at the former Youth ranch outside of Whitewater. It was hosted by Gloria Corona and the Lawless family with members of the congregation attending.

Patty and Steve Young had family visiting last week. This includes Ann Taylor (Ed Anderson’s mom), Jackie Durham (Ed’s sister), Sammie Anderson (Ed’s daughter), and Shelby and Shae (Jackie’s daughters). Hope they liked Whitewater.

There was a baptism at the Lutheran church on Sunday for Baby Lili Grace, daughter of Sean and Shelby Moore. Many of the Werk family from Dodson attended. Sean works for Hammonds.

Sally Austin took Janice Reichelt to Billings for appointments and they visited Janet Brown also.

This is a tribute to Mom and Dad and all Pioneers! This January 2014, about seven months ago, I moved to this house in Whitewater. It had electricity but I have lived here this long without running water or a sewer. Do you remember the outhouses? I have a port-a-potty which is all right but I guess its time to modernize and get running water. “You never miss the water till the well runs dry,” as the old saying goes. How true! I am going to dig a well. Wish us luck! Uncle Otto could “witch a well,” just shake a stick and see where water was located. I can’t.

Also I have not had television since I came. So I have a real appreciation of Mom, Dad and all pioneers! Guess we all do, don’t we?
