MDT proposes a bridge stabilization project for the Fred Robinson Bridge north of Grass Range

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to stabilize the bridge foundation on the north bank of the Missouri River, on the Fred Robinson Bridge (reference post 87.9) located on U.S. Highway 191, approximately 39 miles north of Grass Range, MT., in Phillips County.

Proposed work includes erosion control on the north bank of the river and stabilization methods below the north bridge abutment.

The purpose of the project is to enhance safety of the structure and prolong the structures life span.

Construction is tentatively planned for 2016 depending on completion of design and availability of funds. New easements and relocation of utilities may be required. MDT staff will contact all affected landowners prior to doing survey work on their land. Staff will again contact landowners prior to construction regarding easement acquisition and temporary construction permits.
