Jean Lapham

Jean Lapham, age 87, passed away of natural causes, March 17 , 2015at Clark Fork Retirement Home after a lifetime devoted to the Lord.

Jean was born on the family farm north of Dodson, Montana on August 16,1927. The daughter of Allen and Lucille Williamson, she attended grade school at Waleston, and graduated from Dodson High School. After graduation, she entered the convent of the Sisters of Providence in Seattle. Jean taught school at St. Rapheals in Glasgow; St. Francis in Missoula, and many places in Idaho and Washington. She devoted her young life to the sisterhood and loved teaching her young students. She left the convent and continued teaching in Helmville, Montana.

Jean married Forrest Bauer and was blessed with four stepchildren: Sheryl, Wayne, Mary and David. Forrest passed away in a car accident. She married Pete Lapham June 30, 1979 and welcomed six stepchildren: Robert, Karen, Holly, David, Doreen, and Thomas. Jean and Pete made their home in Polson until 1984. They then moved to Marsh Creek, south of Ronan until 1991 , when they moved to Plains. Jean was a gentle soul, kind, loving and generous. She loved her animals of every kind, cooking and gardening.

Jean is survived by Pete, all the children; brother, Jerry Williamson in Arkansas; sister, Luella Windham in Tennessee; and sister, Dolly Grimsley of Missoula. She was preceded by her parents and brothers, James, Glen, Robert and Richard.

No funeral is planned at this time. Services will be held at a later date at St. James church in Plains, MT. Internment of the ashes will be held in the family plot in Dodson, MT.
