Annie A. Hofer

Annie A. Hofer, 88, passed away peacefully and gracefully, with her family by her side. April 13, 2015, to be with Jesus and all her loved ones. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the Turner Colony. Arrangements have been made with Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.

Annie was born September 24, 1926, to Jacob and Mary (Stahl) Wollman, at Menno, South Dakota. As a young child she moved to Stirling, Alberta. She lived there till she moved to Ayers Colony, at Grass Range, Montana, and married John R. Hofer on June 3, 1951. Three daughters were born while they resided there. Their third daughter, baby Dorthy died at 5 months, in 1956. In 1959, the couple move to Turner, Montana, where seven more children were born to this happy couple. Annie was a devoted wife, caring mother, loving grandmother, sister, aunt, and a friend to many. Mom was a hard working, old fashioned, Christian lady. She stood by her husband's side when he was a German teacher, and gardener at Grass Range, MT. Later as a Pastors wife, at Turner, re-writing German scriptures from the Bible. She was also the head cook for many years at the colony.

Annie was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. John R., in 1992. Parents Jacob and Mary, brothers; Jacob, John, George, and Paul, and sister, Mary. Infant daughter, Dorthy, two son-in-laws, Clem and Peter, two grand daughters, Julie and Hannah, and grandson Eddie John.

She leaves to miss her, six daughters, Susan (Clem) Hofer of Malta, MT, Marie (Ralph) Hofer of Swift Current, Sask., Kathy (Rev. Frank) Stahl of Grass Range, MT, Matilda (Ed) Hofer of Loring, MT, Judy (David) Hofer of Harlem, MT, Debbie (Phillip) of Harlem, MT. Three sons, Johnny of Saco, MT, Danny (Barbara) Hofer of Turner, MT, Rev. Edward (Helen) Hofer of Turner, MT. Many loving grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters, Susie (Joe) Stahl of Grass Range, MT, Katie (Paul) Hofer of Pontiex, Sask., Sister-in-laws; Dora (Mike) Gross of Hines Creek, Alberta, Becky (Darius) Walter of Lamona, WA, Matilda (John) Hofer of Malta, MT, Elizabeth (Jake) of Turner, MT, Annie (Paul) of Turner, MT. Many nieces and nephews.
