Harry "Ed" White

Harry “Ed” White, age 66, of Mount Vernon, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Knox Community Hospital.

He was born on May 19, 1949 in Richlands, Virginia to the late Harry E. and Anna Lee Osborne White (Lambillotte).

Ed was a United States Air Force Veteran. He was a member of the Elks and Colonial City Moose Lodge. Ed had played on the Hiawatha and Chapel Hill golf leagues for many years but prided himself on coaching baseball and softball for his son and daughters teams as they grew up. Ed had recently retired from Ariel Corporation after being with the company for 18 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Paula (Hasler) White, a son, Lanny (Tracy Bennett) White of Centerburg; his daughter, Tangi White of Columbus, Georgia; grandson, Gavin Edward White; two sisters, Carol (Russ) Reed of Ontario and Debbie (Tim) Henson of Germany; sister-in-law, Kim White of Mount Vernon; along with several nieces, nephews and many extended family members in Montana.

Ed was preceded in death by his brother, Jim White; sister-in-law, Gloria Hasler; father-in-law, Bud Hasler and a nephew, John C. Hasler.

Friends were invited to call on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Dilley-Lasater Funeral Home, 212 N. Main St. in Mount Vernon, Ohio where funeral services were held on Thursday with Pastor Roger Tickle officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens with military graveside honors conducted by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ed’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
