One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News for the Week of July 29, 2015

Ally and Sue Olson fed the Canadian group “the Red Coat Feeders” who are feedlot operators. Margie O. made pies. Welcome Redcoats!

Congratulations to Alicia Cole and Parker Miller who got married in Glasgow on July 17. The wedding was well attended and there were many from here including the Austin family (including Justin, Michelle, Audry, Anna, Atlas, Archer and myself.)

Others attending who sat at my table during the reception were Margie Olson, Ree Simonson, Helen and Jane DePuydt, Kay Donaven, Janice Reichelt, Sally Austin, Joyce Donave, Linda Berg, Pat Donich (former Whitewater resident) and Gale and Challise Young (my daughter and granddaughter.)

They served lunch and the church and Challise helped serve before the wedding. Then they served a delicious meal after the ceremony at Cottonwood Inn. Most of the guests spent the night at the hotel. They had a great party with music and they danced all night. I would call it “the party of the year!”

The bride’s mother, Julie – a former Whitewater resident – did an outstanding job with all the wedding activities including a fish fry the following day with Jeff’s fresh fish. What a great wedding celebration!

The next day and night I spent with my daughter, Gale and Challise Young in Saco. I cornered Challise and gave her a piano lesson. She also baked cookies and Monte Broadbrooks visited. It was fun.

Belated congratulations to Keira Simonson and the other girls on their great participation at the rodeo. Also, congratulations to the participants of the Ryan Olson Dart Tournament and the participants of the Jean Green Golf Tournament in Malta.

Several children (the Handleys, Scheffelmears, Andersons, and others) had a lemonade stand in Whitewater and they delivered glasses to all of their customers. Good job, children.

The weather is hot and dry. Be careful with the cigs and camp fires. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Bye.
