Health-Care Foundation Dinner and Auction slated for Saturday, Nov. 14

Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 14 when the Phillips County Health-Care Foundation holds their 24th Annual Fundraiser Dinner and Auction to support an important cause and, all the while, have a fun time.

With the motto of “keeping health care healthy in Malta and Phillips County” the foundation raised over $20,000 last year.

The Health-Care Foundation is currently accepting the donations of items to be auctioned off – once again by auctioneer Cliff Rustad -- and will continue to accept items up until the night of the event at Malta City Hall.

“People can bring the donations to me at Valley Drug,” said board member Greg Ziegler. “You can bring them to the hospital, Art’s Furniture, the Phillips County News or give them to any Health Care Board Member.”

Ziegler said that the foundation donated $50,000 to aid the Hi-Line Retirement Center through their financial issues as well as $5,000 to purchase respiratory equipment for the Phillips County Hospital.

“That is substantially more than we have been able to donate in the past,” Ziegler added. “And then just last year, we raised over $20,000.”

Board member Becca Spencer said that money raised at this year’s fundraiser isn’t specifically earmarked for any one item, but added that the Phillips County Health-Care Foundation hopes to start an endowment with some of the funds in the coming years.

“The endowment is a fund that will be set aside for future capital investment into all of Phillips County healthcare,” added board member Kent Wasson.

Tickets for the dinner are available at all three Malta Banks and are $25 per person. Raffle tickets are still available – items to be raffled are a four-wheeler, $2,500 in Dino Bucks and two kayaks -- which are $25 each or six for $100. The event will also feature door prizes for attendees.

The foundation is also selling tables for the event which cost $350 and include dinner tickets for 10 people, two bottles of wine and your logo or business advertised at your table.

Cook Wagon Catering will cater this year’s event and the Lucky Bullet will be selling the spirits.
