One Nation, Under God

Oh, the many things I am looking forward to

It’s been a pretty weird winter so far… there is no wind, there is hardly any snow, and there is no extreme cold. We all know the snow is coming, but I can’t believe we haven’t been dumped on yet. I must say that I am thankful for the weather otherwise travelling would be a nightmare.

I spent the weekend in Three Forks watching the M-Ettes defeat Fairfield and Belt. There seems to be no ceiling on the potential of this basketball team. They are so deadly from every spot on the floor, despite playing with a sense of lethargy. I am super excited to watch the team progress as the season continues. I know I’m not the only one feeling that way, it’s amazing watching the community support high school athletics. We’ve got a pretty good thing Malta!

As the holidays approach, I’d like to wish all of you college kids safe travels home. I hope your semester (and grades) were a lot better than mine! Don’t let a GPA get you down too much though, your wellbeing and health are far more important. Christmas break is a time to catch up with your family, not worry about the inevitable knockout coming next semester. Drink your hot chocolate, cuddle up under the blankets, and enjoy yourself. You’ll be headed back to campus before you know it.

If forced to choose what I look forward to most over break there would definitely be some debate. I turn 21 Friday, so I am more than excited to drink a beer at the GN over dinner with my old man. I also have a lot of movie time to catch up with my aunt and uncle, and I’ve sure missed cuddling up with my little cousins, TJ and Beau. However, I’m going to say I’m most excited to spend some time with my Grandpa Elmer. I love my family.

It was great seeing a lot of you this weekend, catching up and talking to all of you was fun. I cannot thank you enough for all your kind words and support of my column. It means more than you’d ever know. Also, I’d like to apologize for the lack of content the past couple weeks, I had a lot on my plate. I am hoping to get back into the swing of things and provide quality reading material weekly throughout the next year.
