PC Whist League

The 5th week of the Phillips County Whist League had in first place;Wade Jones and Darren Demarais, 2nd place; John Rothie and Kenneth Ruzicka and 3rd place; Margo Rush and Malcolm Clouse.

Hi-Line Whist

On Saturday, February 21, Agnes and Pearl dropped the first game to Anna and Mary by a 13-11 tally before rallying in the last two hands, 13-10 and 13-5 for the 2-1 win on the day.

“The ‘Crack Queens’ won again,” said Pearl, referring to a crack in the card table. Each week, almost without fail, whoever is sitting on the correct side of the ‘crack’ comes away with a Saturday victory in the Hi-Line Whist competition.

Whist

On Monday, February 15, Leonard Leader took first place with a score of 49, while both Malcolm Clouse and Jerry DePute tied for second as they both scored 46. The traveling prize was awarded to Nancy Soennichsen.

Pinochle

On Wednesday, February 17, Shirley Jones scored the highest with 6,480 points, Harvey Smith came in second with 5,940 and the traveling prize was awarded to both Nina Jones and Geri Peterson.

Malta Duplicate Bridge

On Wednesday, February 10, Anna Faye Simms and Byron Ereaux catapulted into first place. Second was earned by Malcolm Clouse and Les Solberg.

Monday evening saw Margo Rush and Anne Faye Simms capture first place. Cathy Salsbery and John Norgon came in second.
